Staff members need to arrive at camp the morning of
June 22nd and may leave the afternoon of August 19th.
Starting pay for first year staff members in most
positions is $225 per week. Salaries increase with each additional year of
experience. Starting pay for those in leadership positions is $300 per week.
Most staff members are off from Saturday morning after
the camp session ends until we get back together for the next session on
Sunday afternoon. Time off during the week is limited and varies with the
type of job you have at the camp.
Most staff members will live in cabins with the campers.
Each cabin sleeps ten and has its own restrooms with showers. Some staff
will also be housed in the camp's two lodges.
At The Camp we've developed a reputation for great
food. Our dining hall offers a variety of nutritious meals and can
accommodate those with special dietary needs. Staff members receive meals at
no cost.
Prior to the campers arriving, staff members receive a
week of intensive training. The training includes a wide range of topics
including outdoor skills, child development and leadership. In addition,
staff members attend weekly training throughout the summer.
We ask that you be a person of Christian faith who is
willing to share that faith with campers. We'll also expect that you live a
Christian lifestyle and serve as a role model while you work at camp.
While we are a ministry of the Episcopal Church we
actively seek staff members from a variety of faith backgrounds. We value
diversity in beliefs and the sharing and exploration of faith issues that
diversity brings.
Our summer staff is a team effort between our year
round staff, our summer staff and volunteers. Our summer staff is primarily
college students from throughout the country. We also have several
international members on our staff.
