Wine Appreciation Weekend
Friday, July 8th – Sunday, July 10th, 2016

Join us for a weekend of connecting, learning, relaxing and enjoying the ultimate elixir of life – fine wine. Spend 2 nights retreating with friends, old and new, at our comfortably appointed facility located in the scenic woods of Greenfield, New Hampshire.

The Wine Appreciation Weekend Package includes:

  • 2 nights of hotel style lodge accommodations
  • 5 delicious home-cooked meals (Friday supper through Sunday breakfast)
  • Interactive learning sessions led by our Executive Director, John Koch
  • Tastings of fine wine from around the world
  • Opportunities to enjoy our quiet and peaceful property on the shores of Otter Lake

What you will learn:

  • How to “taste”
  • The basics of understanding and reading wine labels
  • The basics of wine-making and grape-growing
  • Exploring the cultures of the great wine-producing regions of the world: California, Europe, Australia and South America

Cost (includes meals, wine, lodging):

  • $250 per person for a double occupancy lodge room
  • $330 per person for a single occupancy lodge room

About the Instructor:

John Koch, Executive Director of the Barbara C. Harris Center and wine lover. Trained at the Windows on the World Wine School; Former Director of Hospitality at Dry Creek Vineyard, Sonoma County, CA; Former Tasting Room Manager for Arista Winery, Sonoma County, CA.

7-8:30pm     Session I-Introduction to Enology; How to Taste

Saturday, July 9th
8-9am           Breakfast in the Dining Hall
9am-12pm   Session II-Wine Production; Viticulture
12-1pm         Lunch in the Dining Hall
1-4pm           Free Time
4-6pm           Session III-New World Wines: California, Australia, Argentina
6-7pm           Supper in the Dining Hall
7-8:30pm      Session IV-Old World Wines: France, Germany

Sunday, July 10th
8-9am            Breakfast in the Dining Hall
9-11am          Closing Session
11-11:30am   Check-out & Departure
